As a megatrend, demographic change is a key driver for many societal challenges such as old-age provision, health, capital market development, or education.

Initiators of this conference series are the German Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Allianz SE as well as Diakonie Deutschland. The ESMT European School of Management and Technology is not only the host of the BDF, but also a strong partner.

In 2017, additional partners of the Berlin Demography Forum were the Federal Ministry of the Interior, the Federal Ministry of Health, the Vodafone Foundation Germany, as well as Population Europe (leading researchers network) and the Geman Society for Demography (DGD).
